Top Chef Farmers Market Tour & Cooking Class

Saturday mornings

Food from the Farmer's Market tour Join culinary tour guide Liz Biro for a coffee tasting and morning treats at Hot Pink Cake Stand or Port City Java. Then, with coffees in hand, it's a short stroll to downtown Wilmington's abundant Riverfront Farmers Market for more tastings and lessons in how to shop the market like a profssional chef. We'll make some purchases and then head to Aubriana's for a hands-on cooking class in the kitchen with chef Tyson Amick, one of Wilmington's very best. The class will produce our wonderful lunch. You'll never consider frozen vegetables again.

Downtown Wilmington Restaurant Walking Tour

Food from the Heart of Downtown tourDowntown Wilmington is a food lover's dream, and this tour gets to the heart of this delicious area. A melting pot of flavors make up the fabulous menu of tastings at 6, sometimes 7, downtown restaurants. You‘ll hob nob with the city’s top chefs, get big servings of Wilmington food history and hear lots of restaurant dish. Find out where to eat and how the Port City become a foodie paradise.

Drinks Downtown Cocktail Walking Tour

5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays

Drinks from the Drinks Downtown tourQuick-paced and cool, featuring imaginative cocktails, fine wines, maybe a N.C. craft beer and maybe a surprise nosh at 4 downtown Wilmington hot spots. Hear about the Port City's drink history and meet the magic-making mixologists behind its best bars. Get cocktail making tips and discover how to pair wine or beer with dessert. Who knows what you'll shake up after toasting on this tour!

Cooking Classes with Liz Biro at The Seasoned Gourmet

Afternoon and evening classes available

Culinary tour guide and food writer are just two bites on Liz Biro's plate. She's also worked as a professional cook in charge of her own full-service catering business that served groups of up to 200 people. Liz shares her cooking knowledge by leading fun, lively cooking classes, often with guest chefs from her cuilinary tours and Wilmington, N.C.'s delicious restaurant scene. Find these classes at the fantastic Seasoned Gourmet market. The shop's stunning demonstration allows everyone to see the action and even join in the cooking!

Tasty tours of downtown's Castle Street antiques district and uptown's The Forum shopping center are in the works. Tours are being arranged for the Wrightsville Beach area, too. And the downtown Farmers Market Tour is expanding its options. Keep checking for new tours.
